Respect

I've just skimmed through an article on this site www.henrymakow.com and come across this written by someone who lives in Denmark.

'Gender role confusion is rampant: particularly in young men and teenage boys. My own step son has confided in me many times that he just doesn't understand what girls expect of him. He tells me they are impossibly argumentative, confrontational [and] show no respect for the masculine at all. He says he would like to meet a nice girl and settle down, but he cannot imagine ever meeting one'.

So this guy thinks there should be gender roles - why? What is wrong with men doing traditional women's jobs or vice versa? Why shouldn't women argue? If men say something women don't agree with are women supposed to just accept it because the man is always right? In my book respect has to be earned, it should not be granted just because a man is a man or a woman is a woman.

  1. So this guy thinks there should be gender roles - why? ...

I stopped reading your idiocy right about there in contrast to the brilliant observations made in bold text.

http://www.manhoodacademy.com <- there's the answer to your "why" but you just don't want to hear it because you have what a brilliant man calls the "eternal solipsism of the female mind"

You should really stop attempting to appear reasonable ie. as a female, you are a lost cause.

  2. Well said, Jilly. Too often a woman who is expressing an opinion that's different to a man's is seen as 'argumentative', and not in a good way. The guys who win my respect are the ones who don't necessarily agree with me but are happy to debate things through without resorting to sweeping insults or bigoted comments! There are some out there, honestly.

  3. I wish someone would find whoever started that $%@#$%^& "Manhood Academy" (man my foot! that's not a real man!) and shut it down. Rage can't describe the feeling I get when I read anything about them. It's men like that who give the rest of the men of the world a bad name.

Okay, blood pressure, go back down now. :) Jilly, I think you've hit a perfect note here. I consider myself a feminist, but I think you state it perfectly with "In my book respect has to be earned, it should not be granted just because a man is a man or a woman is a woman." True! We're all equals, now let's try to act like it. No more "superior" sexes.
